The Department of French has been functioning since 2013. French is offered as a second language for UG courses in the first and second years. The department helps the students to learn and acquaint themselves with the French language and its culture. Learning a foreign language is said to improve the intellectual capabilities of the students and so the interest in learning a foreign language among students has been increasing every year. As French is one of the first three International Languages that are widely spoken across the world, the department also aims at developing “Reading, Writing, Speaking and Listening” skills in the French language.
