Overview
The Department of Jainology was established to impart spiritual education to our students and help them embrace a Jaina way of life. The department aims to nurture all aspects of one’s personality and enable them to live a holistic life and also endeavour for higher spiritual growth. Its main objective is to impart the right knowledge to them so that they can make better choices and lead a happy and purposeful life filled with values and principles that could be applied in their day-to-day life. Thanks to the initiative and keen interest by the secretary Shri Abhayakumar Srisrimal to impart and inculcate Jaina principles and moral values.
The department has been functioning since 2008. It was inaugurated by Shri P.S. Surana in the august presence of Shri Uttamji Gothi, Shri Gyanchandji Srisrimal, Shri Surendraji Mehta, Dr.Amarchandji Jain, Dr. Jayanthilalji Jain, and other distinguished guests.
Eligibility For Admission
A candidate who has passed a degree course of the University of Madras or any other University accepted by the University of Madras as equivalent thereto shall be eligible for admission to the P.G. Diploma in Jainology
Scope
This program is a stepping stone for the students to pursue a career in academics. The students can choose further studies and become research scholars. They can pursue a career in teaching and imparting Jaina values to students in schools and colleges.
