Summary

The Department of Tamil (Shift I) celebrated World Mother Language Day with great enthusiasm. The programme aimed to create awareness about the importance of preserving and promoting mother languages. Our distinguished alumna, Ms. Shobana Swaminathan, was the Chief Guest for the event. She completed her B.Com in Corporate Secretaryship in 2022 and M.Com in Accounting and Finance in 2024. She is currently working as an Accounts Payable Associate at Accenture. She also served as the judge for the competitions and motivated the students with her inspiring speech.

Three competitions were conducted, and nearly 100 students actively participated.The programme was organized smoothly and helped students gain more knowledge about the significance of World Mother Language Day.
The event concluded successfully and achieved its objective of spreading awareness about the importance of mother languages. Overall, the programme was a grand success.
