Students of Music and Dance Club of Shri Shankarlal Sundarbai Shasun Jain College for Women, T.Nagar won the Third Place and received Rs.10,000 Award in the Anti-Drug Awareness Song Competition organised by Art of Living, Tamil Nadu. The students received their award during an event held at Anna University Grounds on 26 th August 2023. B.Prithaa Lakshmi of II B.Com. Gen, Shift II, Pranitha S of II B.Com. Gen, Shift II, Deeptha J of IIIB.Com. Gen, Shift II, Sowmiya S of III B.Com. Gen, Shift II, G.V.Gomati Preya of I B.Sc. Psy, Shift I, Niranjana Radhakrishnan of I B.Com. Hons, Shift I, K.Ezhilarasi of I B.Com. A&;F, Shift I, and S.Kaviya of I B.Com. A/F , Shift I composed the song on the theme “I stand for Drug Free India”. The song was written by Prithaa Lakshmi B, Pranitha S and Nikileswari J and composed by the team members. The rap portion “No more life lost, No more dreams shattered, We’ll fight for the Nation, Where addiction doesn’t matter, Empowering the Youth, Giving the strength to say no to drugs” was sung by Sowmiya S. The students coordinated themselves well and were enormously supported by the faculty. The students were extremely happy and excited to take part in this event. The song was liked by everyone and it helped them to win the competition. The students thanked the College Management, Principal and Vice Principal for their constant support and motivation.
