Equal Opportunities Cell

Our College has initiated the Equal Opportunity Cell to ensure that all students are treated as equal and attempts to address deep-seated inequalities in our system. The cell was inaugurated on 8th February 2021 by IQAC Director Ms. N.M. Kavitha. A webinar on “Up-Skilling for Competitiveness and Employability” was conducted for our  students  and Dr. Kishor Budda, Career Guidance Cell – Director, GITAM University was the Resource Person. Nearly 1265 students enthusiastically participated and were benefitted through it.

Equal Opportunity Cell works for affirmative actions for the deprived sections such as persons from SC, ST, OBC (Non-creamy layer) categories, persons from religious  minorities, differently-abled persons and so on. It also guides weaker section students to avail the permissible scholarships and financial assistance and other facilities and privileges.

Our college has always ensured that differently abled and other weaker section students stay ahead in their learning process. Faculty pay more attention to their special needs and provide them with more encouragement and support. Also, the College makes it their prerogative to provide scribes for the differently abled students during University Exams.

Purpose :

  • To ensure that all the students are treated equally and to address any issues raised.
  • To ensure that the disadvantaged/minority groups such as SC/ST/OBC are given equal importance in all aspects of the learning process.
  • To prevent any type of harassment against the minority/disadvantaged groups.
  • To infuse unity in diversity among the students, teaching and non-teaching staff and to eliminate the perception of discrimination.
  • To ensure that there is no discrimination in terms of religion, race, caste, disability etc.
  • To provide auxiliary support towards skill development that enhances the employability and to meet the distinct needs of students.
