Dr. Roja Kannan stands as one of the most distinguished exponents of Bharatanatyam from Chennai, with an illustrious career spanning over five decades. Known for her pristine style and expressive depth, she has captivated audiences through numerous performances and lecture demonstrations across India and abroad.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Roja Kannan shared inspiring reflections from her personal journey. Through her heartfelt words, she spoke about the challenges she faced in life, including her courageous battle with cancer, and how determination, faith, and dedication to her art helped her overcome adversity. Her story of resilience deeply moved the audience and served as a powerful message of hope and strength for the students.

Smt. Usha Abhaya Kumar, Secretary of Shasun Jain College for Women, felicitated Dr. Roja Kannan and presented the Shasun Sreshta Stree Award in recognition of her outstanding contribution to the field of Bharatanatyam and Indian cultural heritage and blessed students on International women’s day.
