Description : The International Yoga Day is on 20th June 2025 with a special workshop aimed at promoting wellbeing and holistic health among students. The session began on an auspicious note with the lighting of the traditional Kuthuvilakku by Dr. Ramadevi Sekhar, Director of the Centre, & Ms. Srividhya Co-ordinator of the centre, marking the commencement of the academic year’s cultural and spiritual activities. The Chief Guest, Ms. Bhooma Madhavan, a renowned faculty member from the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram, delivered an enlightening address on the significance of yoga in managing the mind and emotions. She spoke about the three fundamental emotional states—Sattva, Rajas, and Tamas—as described in yogic philosophy. Emphasizing the importance of nurturing a Sattvic (balanced and serene) state of mind, Ms. Madhavan highlighted how such a disposition fosters clarity in decision-making and supports a peaceful and harmonious lifestyle.

The session was further enriched with a live demonstration of yoga practices led by Ms. Madhavan. Participants actively engaged in various breathing techniques, asanas, and mindfulness practices, making the event both interactive and impactful.

The session witnessed the enthusiastic participation of more than 50 students, who found the experience rejuvenating and insightful. The event not only celebrated yoga as a physical practice but also reinforced its deeper connection to mental and emotional wellbeing.
